Most betting models sound certain because certainty sells. PARLAI is built the other way: anchor every pick to the market, show the provenance, cap every adjustment, and abstain when the data does not justify a card.

PARLAI pulls live prices for today's games from many bookmakers at once — the same numbers the books actually offer.
Why we anchor to a no-vig baseline
Every bookmaker price has margin baked in, so the implied odds always add up to more than 100%. We remove that margin first. It means the numbers you see are not inflated by the house cut — they are the fairest read the market actually supports.
Why it abstains
If there are not enough clean, eligible legs — stale prices, an unverifiable venue, too few candidates — the engine returns a fallback or abstains rather than inventing an edge. A blank is more honest than a bluff, and it keeps a weak card from being dressed up as a strong one.
What is live vs. in development
Live today: live odds, the no-vig baseline, deterministic scoring, venue grounding, and your saved history.
Built but off by default: an availability and injury overlay, plus a news extractor. Both are fully capped and provenance-tagged — but switched off until they are fed by real, verified data. We would rather ship them dark than let unverified inputs move a pick.
